What are the benefits of using lithium-ion batteries in consumer electronics?

Lithium-ion batteries allow consumer electronics to be charged and recharged over and over again, meaning less disposable batteries will wind up in landfills. With a commitment to protecting the environment, CM BATTERIES does its own part to prevent pollution and e-waste to the best of its ability – from the material selection process through manufacturing.

What is your warranty policy for lithium-ion batteries?

We pride ourselves in the quality of our battery packs, but we want to ensure our customers feel at ease and taken care of when they make a purchase from CM BATTERIES. For each of our products, CM BATTERIES offers a one-year warranty to all customers and an 18-month warranty to our VIP customers.

What is the life cycle of a lithium-ion battery?

A lithium-ion battery lasts 500 charge cycles before downgrading to 80% capacity. Please be sure to use any CM battery pack as specified to ensure battery longevity.

What is CMB's process for developing and manufacturing custom battery packs for consumer electronics?

We work hard to provide our clients with high-quality custom products that suit their exact needs, all in a timely and efficient manner. Below is an overview of how our custom battery pack design and production process works:

 

  1. The customer makes an initial inquiry. (1 business day)
  2. CM BATTERIES asks the customer to complete a battery customization questionnaire. (1 business day)
  3. CM BATTERIES provides a proposed battery pack design and follows up with any pending questions that might be integral to designing the best battery for its specified use. (1 business day)
  4. CM BATTERIES provides a more detailed design plan, which includes a 2-D or 3-D model. (1-2 business days)
  5. Upon customer approval of the design, CM BATTERIES generates a quote for the order. (1 business day)
  6. The customer receives a prototype for review. (within 14 business days)
  7. Manufacturing begins.(25-30 business days)
  8. Order is delivered.

What chargers can I use on CM Batteries packs?

We recommend obtaining your battery pack chargers from CM BATTERIES to ensure safe and high-quality charges that will prevent damage to the battery and prolong its life cycle. The full charge of voltage per battery cell is 4.2V, and the full charge of voltage per battery pack is 4.2V plus the series number. The charge current is dependent on the charge time.

Does my battery pack for consumer electronics require an NTC thermistor?

If a battery pack will be working with a high peak discharge current more than 10x the constant discharge current, its design should include an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor. Additionally, if a consumer electronic device will be working at/in temperatures over 65°C, an NTC thermistor should be added to the battery pack design to avoid heat damage to the PCB, which can lead to the battery catching fire. CM BATTERIES offers 10K and 100K NTC thermistors. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask your dedicated CM BATTERIES advisor.

How do you ensure the quality of your products?

Each custom battery design is crafted by our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who has more than 15 years of experience in the lithium-ion battery industry. We provide our clients with detailed schematic designs, a list of the battery pack’s components, and details of the brand names and models of the IC and MOS parts that will be used, so our customers are well-educated on the design and makeup of their custom product before it goes into production. During the production process, we also conduct aging tests and thorough QC checks prior to shipping out any order.
